CVE-2025-66869Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Process crash via missing terminator capacity check

Published Dec 29, 2025 · Updated Dec 29, 2025

Heap-based buffer overflow in libming swftophp 0.4.8 allows context-dependent attackers to crash the process via a crafted SWF file. The dcputs function in util/decompile.c calls dcchkstr with only the appended string length, then strcat writes that data plus a terminator into the output buffer. The overflow occurs when decompiled action text exactly fills the allocation boundary, and the published proof of concept produces an AddressSanitizer abort.
