CVE-2025-66626Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unsafe symlink extraction

Published Dec 9, 2025 · Updated Dec 12, 2025

Path traversal in Argo Workflows 3.6.13 and earlier and 3.7.0 through 3.7.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. The workflow executor's untar logic computes a symbolic-link target incorrectly, then writes archive entries through links that resolve outside the extraction directory. A user able to submit a workflow and supply its artifact archive can overwrite /var/run/argo/argoexec, causing an attacker-chosen script to run when the pod starts.
