Unauthenticated code execution via WebSocket keystrokes
Published Dec 4, 2025 · Updated Jul 14, 2026
Command injection in Remotecontrolio Remote Keyboard Desktop 1.0.1 allows remote attackers to execute system commands through WebSocket input. The service accepts unauthenticated keyboard_event messages on port 8080, letting an attacker open the Windows Run dialog and type a rundll32 command that loads an attacker-hosted DLL over SMB. Network reachability to the listening WebSocket is sufficient, and successful execution runs the payload in the application's user context.
