CVE-2025-66549Network attack vector

File-path disclosure via unmangled WebDAV lock request

Published Dec 5, 2025 · Updated Dec 8, 2025

Information disclosure in Nextcloud Desktop before 3.16.5 allows remote authenticated users to read cleartext file paths from server logs. LockFileJob::start() built its WebDAV LOCK request with path() instead of the journal record's end-to-end-encrypted mangled name. A client user must manually lock a file inside an end-to-end encrypted directory; a server administrator can then recover its cleartext path from logs.
