CVE-2025-6651

Code execution via unchecked JP2 buffer write

Published Jun 25, 2025 · Updated Jun 26, 2025

Out-of-bounds write in JP2 parsing in PDF-XChange Editor 10.5.2.395 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted file. The JPEG2000 parser fails to validate user-supplied data before writing it, allowing a write past the end of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires the target to open the file or visit malicious content, and resulting code runs in the current process.
