CVE-2025-66495

Code execution via stale annotation object access

Published Dec 19, 2025 · Updated Dec 19, 2025

Use-after-free in Foxit PDF Editor and Foxit PDF Reader allows remote attackers to execute code through crafted JavaScript in a PDF. Annotation-object handling fails to verify that an object still exists before operating on it, causing the application to access or dereference a pointer after its memory has been freed. The target must open the malicious file or visit a malicious page, after which code executes in the context of the current application process.
