Authenticated code execution via unsanitized upload filename
Published Dec 16, 2025 · Updated Dec 16, 2025
Path traversal in C4illin ConvertX before 0.16.0 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite files and execute code via /upload. The upload handler appends the unsanitized multipart file.name value to userUploadsDir and passes the resulting path to Bun.write. Any account that can upload a file can escape the per-user directory and replace writable binaries, enabling code execution with the ConvertX process's permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
