Authenticated root command execution via Apache configuration injection
Published Dec 12, 2025 · Updated Dec 12, 2025
Command injection in Plesk for Linux 18.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands as root through protected-directory settings. The Password-Protected Directories feature writes attacker-controlled data into Apache configuration through ProtectedDirectories.php without restricting it to safe values. Access to that feature is required; successful injection grants command execution with root authority.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
