Credential-hash disclosure via automatic NTLM authentication

Information disclosure in Git for Windows before 2.53.0(2) allows remote attackers to capture an NTLMv2 hash during a repository clone. When a user clones from an attacker-controlled server, the Git authentication path automatically attempts NTLM and sends the challenge-response hash to that server. The user must initiate the clone; the captured hash permits offline brute-force recovery of the account name and password, with no reported integrity or availability impact.
