Code execution via unvalidated U3D object use
Published Jun 25, 2025 · Updated Jun 30, 2025
Use-after-free in U3D parsing in PDF-XChange Editor 10.5.2.395 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted file. The parser performs operations on a U3D object without first validating that the object still exists, leaving a freed reference usable during file processing. Execution occurs in the current process only after a user visits a malicious page or opens a malicious file; no prior privileges are required.
