Server-file disclosure via unrestricted backup root
Published Dec 1, 2025 · Updated Dec 3, 2025
Path traversal in Grav before 1.8.0-beta.27 allows remote authenticated users with administrative privileges to read server files. Backups::backup used the configured backup root without resolving it or rejecting paths into sensitive directories outside the webroot. Exploitation requires Grav administrator access and backup creation; disclosed data is limited by the filesystem permissions of the account running Grav.
