CVE-2025-66295Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated YAML overwrite via unvalidated username path

Published Dec 1, 2025 · Updated Dec 2, 2025

Path traversal in Grav before 1.8.0-beta.27 allows remote authenticated users with account-creation rights to overwrite YAML files. User::save uses the supplied username to construct the account YAML pathname without rejecting separators or '..', so it can resolve beyond user/accounts/. Account-creation privileges are required; writes can replace account or configuration YAML, enabling account takeover, misconfiguration, or service interruption.
