Authenticated file read via path traversal
Published Feb 11, 2026 · Updated Feb 11, 2026
Path traversal in QNAP File Station 5 5.5.x before 5.5.6.5190 allows remote authenticated users to read unexpected files and system data. QNAP has not disclosed the affected request handler or how attacker-controlled path data escapes the intended directory boundary. A valid user account is required; exploitation crosses only file-read boundaries, with no reported ability to modify data or interrupt service.
