Unauthenticated code execution via unsigned firmware upload
Published Nov 26, 2025 · Updated Dec 3, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in DB Elettronica Mozart FM Transmitter allows remote attackers to execute code through malicious firmware. The upgrade_contents.php handler moves an uploaded file into /var/www/upload after checking only its size; it does not verify the file header, required .tgz format, or a cryptographic signature. The web endpoint is reachable without authentication, and installing an attacker-supplied firmware package compromises the transmitter appliance.
