CVE-2025-66223Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Privilege escalation via unrevoked invitation tokens

Published Nov 29, 2025 · Updated Dec 1, 2025

Broken access control in OpenObserve before 0.16.0 allows remote authenticated users to regain organization access via stale invite tokens. The invitation workflow neither expires tokens after use nor revokes earlier tokens after reinvitation, role changes, removal, or departure. A previously invited user who retains an older link can rejoin after removal or accept a still-valid higher-role invitation to become an administrator.
