Device malfunction via crafted discovery packets
Published Jan 13, 2026 · Updated Jan 13, 2026
Buffer overflow in Hikvision Search and Discovery allows remote attackers on the same LAN to cause malfunctions in affected NVR, DVR, CVR, and IPC devices. Hikvision has not disclosed the packet field, parsing routine, or unchecked memory operation that overruns the stack buffer. Reachability requires adjacent-network access to the discovery service; the documented consequence is device malfunction, with no more specific failure mode published.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
