Taxonomy reordering via nonce-free AJAX requests
Published Nov 21, 2025 · Updated Nov 21, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in Igor Jerosimić's Order Terms plugin through 1.5.0 allows remote attackers to reorder taxonomy terms. The plugin's AJAX reorder handler accepts state-changing term-order requests without validating a WordPress nonce. Exploitation requires a user with manage_categories permission to visit a crafted page or link, letting the attacker alter category, tag, or custom-taxonomy ordering.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
