CVE-2025-66035Network attack vector

XSRF token disclosure via protocol-relative URL misclassification

Published Nov 26, 2025 · Updated Jun 2, 2026

Credential leakage in Angular HttpClient before 19.2.16, 20.3.14, and 21.0.1 allows remote attackers to obtain XSRF tokens. The XSRF interceptor treats URLs beginning with // as same-origin because its absolute-URL test recognizes only HTTP and HTTPS schemes, then attaches the X-XSRF-TOKEN header. Reachability requires enabled XSRF protection and attacker influence over a state-changing request to an attacker-controlled protocol-relative URL; the disclosed token enables forged requests in the victim session.
