CVE-2025-66030Network attack vector

Security-control bypass via oversized ASN.1 OID arcs

Published Nov 26, 2025 · Updated Nov 28, 2025

Integer overflow in Forge before 1.3.2 allows remote attackers to bypass downstream OID-based security decisions with crafted ASN.1 input. The asn1.derToOid function in lib/asn1.js decodes each untrusted OID arc with a JavaScript left shift, coercing the value to a signed 32-bit integer and silently wrapping oversized arcs. Reachability requires a downstream application to pass attacker-controlled ASN.1 to this decoder and then trust the resulting OID; successful exploitation substitutes a malicious certificate OID for an expected trusted identifier.
