Authenticated code execution via configurable Git hooks
Published Dec 8, 2025 · Updated Dec 9, 2025
Code execution in the Git node in n8n 0.123.1 through 1.119.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands on the host. The Add Config operation accepts an arbitrary core.hooksPath value, causing later Git operations to run attacker-supplied hooks as local commands. Workflow creation or modification rights and access to the Git node are required, after which commands run with the n8n process user's host permissions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
