CVE-2025-65956Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored script execution via unescaped blog tags

Published Nov 25, 2025 · Updated Nov 26, 2025

Stored XSS in Formwork before 2.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in editors' browsers through crafted blog tags. The panel's TagsInput.insertTag method assigns each saved tag value to a span's innerHTML property without encoding it, so markup becomes executable DOM content. A low-privileged CMS account can plant the persistent payload, but execution requires another authenticated user to open or edit the affected blog post; the result is browser-context script execution and interface lockout.
