IP address disclosure via unverified email notification
Published Feb 2, 2026 · Updated Feb 2, 2026
Information disclosure in affected MediaWiki releases allows remote attackers to obtain an IP address through an email notification. User.php sends an account email-change notice containing the requester's IP address to the replacement address before that address is verified. Exploitation requires an account email change and access to the unverified recipient mailbox; disclosure is limited to the requester's IP address.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
