CVE-2025-65841

Account takeover via portable weakly encrypted credentials

Published Dec 3, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026

Credential exposure in Aquarius Desktop 3.0.069 for macOS allows local users to recover passwords and take over Aquarius accounts. The aquarius.settings file stores the password as base64-encoded Blowfish-ECB ciphertext under a static key, with no device binding or integrity check. Reading that user file permits offline plaintext recovery or portable session restoration, exposing cloud-synchronized data and authenticated account actions.
