CVE-2025-65834

Application crash via oversized MLT image dimensions

Published Dec 16, 2025 · Updated Dec 16, 2025

Buffer overflow in Meltytech Shotcut 25.10.31 allows context-dependent attackers to crash the application through a crafted MLT project file. The mlt_image_fill_white function allocates and initializes an image buffer from manipulated width and height values without adequately bounding the resulting size. Opening the malicious project file is required, and the reported consequence is a local application crash rather than code execution or data disclosure.
