Physical code execution via unsigned firmware flashing
Published Dec 10, 2025 · Updated Dec 10, 2025
Code injection in Meatmeet Pro BBQ Thermometer 1.0.34.4 allows physically proximate attackers to execute modified firmware at startup. The basestation's ESP32 boot path has Secure Boot disabled, so it starts flash-resident code without authenticating the firmware image. Physical disassembly, UART access, and download-mode activation are required; successful reflashing grants persistent control of device code.
