CVE-2025-65799Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Arbitrary file overwrite via unsanitized attachment filename

Published Dec 8, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026

Path traversal in usememos Memos 0.25.2 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite arbitrary files through attachment uploads. The CreateAttachment and UpdateAttachment endpoints pass an unchecked filename to local attachment storage, allowing directory traversal sequences to escape the intended path. Exploitation requires a low-privileged account and local attachment storage; overwriting the SQLite database can corrupt application data.
