Cross-user attachment modification via missing ownership checks
Published Dec 8, 2025 · Updated Jul 5, 2026
Missing authorization in usememos Memos 0.25.2 allows remote authenticated users to modify, expose, or delete other users' attachments. The SetMemoAttachments API processes caller-supplied memo and attachment identifiers without validating ownership of either resource. Any low-privilege account with target identifiers can remove attachments from disk or assign private attachments to a public memo, exposing their contents.
