CVE-2025-65792Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated file truncation via JDBC socket factory

Published Dec 10, 2025 · Updated Dec 10, 2025

Arbitrary file deletion in DataGear 5.5.0 allows remote attackers to truncate server files through the database connection test endpoint. The endpoint passes an attacker-supplied PostgreSQL JDBC URL to the driver, whose socketFactory and socketFactoryArg parameters instantiate FileOutputStream on a chosen path and truncate the target. No authentication is required; reachable deployments expose any file writable by the DataGear process to destructive truncation.
