Remote command execution via unsafe ffmpeg shell construction
Published Feb 18, 2026 · Updated Feb 18, 2026
Command injection in ZoneMinder through 1.36.37 and 1.37.0 through 1.38.0 allows attackers to execute OS commands remotely. The image view handler in web/views/image.php concatenates user-influenced values into an ffmpeg shell command and invokes PHP exec() without sufficient escaping. Unauthenticated reachability depends on authentication being disabled; the supplier disputes the claim and states that the endpoint receives no unsanitized user input.
