Authenticated vote forgery via unrestricted card updates
Published Dec 15, 2025 · Updated Dec 15, 2025
Improper authorization in Wekan 8.15 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to forge votes by updating card vote arrays. Card updates accepted client-controlled vote.positive and vote.negative arrays without restricting changes to the caller's user ID. Board membership normally supplies access, while a per-card setting can permit other authenticated users to vote; exploitation alters voting results but does not disclose data or interrupt service.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
