Stored cross-site scripting in Algernon before 1.17.5 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a visitor's browser via a crafted filename. The directory-listing handler passes filesystem names to themes.HTMLLink, which inserts link text and URLs into HTML without sanitization or escaping. Exploitation requires a maliciously named file in a served directory without an index file and a visitor to open the listing, exposing page content or session data.
