Root command execution via unvalidated speed-test download
Published Feb 17, 2026 · Updated Feb 17, 2026
Improper certificate validation in Gryphon Guardian 01.06.0006.22 allows attackers to run commands as root via a spoofed server. The access point's speed-test workflow accepts a self-signed certificate, then downloads, extracts, and runs an attacker-supplied archive as root. Exploitation requires the speed test to be started from the Gryphon app and a man-in-the-middle position or forged DNS response, after which the supplied executable gains full device privileges.
