CVE-2025-65717Public exploitNetwork attack vector

File exfiltration via missing CORS protections

Published Feb 16, 2026 · Updated Feb 16, 2026

File disclosure in Live Server 5.7.9 allows remote attackers to exfiltrate files when a user opens a crafted HTML page. The extension's local HTTP server omits CORS protections, allowing page JavaScript to recursively fetch files from localhost:5500 and send them to an attacker-controlled domain. Exploitation requires Live Server to be running and the user to open the malicious page; exposure is limited to files the server makes reachable.
