Cross-site scripting via unescaped login error message
Published Jun 24, 2025 · Updated Jun 24, 2025
Reflected XSS in Hope-Boot 1.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser through /login. WebController.login copies the errorMsg request parameter directly into a model attribute, and login.fti inserts that value into HTML without escaping or sanitization. Exploitation requires access to the login endpoint and a user to load the crafted response; script runs in that user's browser context.
