Improper input validation in Browserify PBKDF2 1.0.0 through 3.1.2 allows attackers to derive static keys from Uint8Array inputs. The toBuffer method passes a typed array's backing buffer to a conversion path that Node.js before 3.0.0 treats as empty, discarding the supplied password and salt. The defect requires Node.js or io.js before 3.0.0; distinct attacker-controlled arrays can consequently yield the same derived key.
