Server crash via crafted ADTS file
Published Dec 1, 2025 · Updated Dec 1, 2025
NULL pointer dereference in Live555 Streaming Media 2018.09.02 allows remote attackers to crash the media server with a crafted ADTS file. ADTSAudioFileServerMediaSubsession::createNewRTPSink() dereferences a null pointer while constructing an RTP sink from the supplied file. The attack requires the server to process the crafted file, and the resulting crash interrupts streaming without reported data disclosure or modification.
