Service crash via freed ADTS audio source
Published Dec 1, 2025 · Updated Dec 1, 2025
Use-after-free in Live555 Streaming Media 2018.09.02 allows remote attackers to crash a media service via a crafted ADTS/AAC file. The ADTSAudioFileSource::samplingFrequency() accessor reads an object after its lifetime has ended while the crafted file is processed. Exploitation requires processing attacker-supplied media and user interaction; the documented consequence is a crash, not code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
