Authenticated script execution via unescaped slug parameter
Published Jun 26, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in murtuzamakda52 web-cam 3.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the slug parameter. The plugin accepts the web-cam shortcode's slug attribute and renders the stored value without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping. Contributor-level access is required, and the script executes when a user opens the affected page, enabling browser-context data access or content changes.
