Persistent service outage via unchecked DHCP hostname copy

Buffer overflow in Mercury MR816v2 firmware 081C3114 4.8.7 Build 110427 Rel 36550n allows remote attackers on the LAN to interrupt router service. The DHCP service copies and concatenates a client-supplied hostname longer than about 250 bytes into fixed-size buffers without validation or truncation. Any unauthenticated LAN host can corrupt adjacent memory with one DHCP transaction, leaving DHCP and the management interface unavailable until a physical reboot.
