CVE-2025-6523Network attack vector

Unauthenticated access via brute-forceable emergency codes

Published Jul 22, 2025 · Updated Nov 25, 2025

Weak credentials in Devolutions Server's emergency authentication component allow remote attackers to bypass authentication with short codes. The server generates emergency codes with a search space short enough for feasible brute forcing instead of credentials resistant to guessing. No account is required; a successfully guessed code reaches functions protected by emergency authentication.
