CVE-2025-6521

Sensitive-data disclosure via cleartext onboarding keys

Published Jun 27, 2025 · Updated Jun 27, 2025

Cleartext key exposure in Trend Makers Sight Bulb Pro firmware through 8.57.83 allows attackers to decrypt captured setup traffic. During initial Wi-Fi onboarding, the device sends AES session keys in cleartext while negotiating with the management app. The attacker must be within range of the temporary access point and capture that exchange; recovered keys expose later app-to-device communications, including network credentials.
