Unauthenticated configuration changes via tokenless shadow API
Published Feb 11, 2026 · Updated Feb 11, 2026
Missing authentication in WE2001 23.09.27 web APIs allows remote attackers on the local network to alter router configurations. The webapi and webapi.common components duplicate administrative operations under *_nocommit names but omit the session-token check used by their authenticated counterparts. Local-network reachability is sufficient; crafted HTTP requests can change SSIDs, Wi-Fi credentials, and administrative passwords, enabling administrative control.
