DOM XSS in Vega before 5.6.3 and 6.0.0 through 6.1.1 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript via malicious Vega JSON. The selectionTuples implementation invokes the map property of an attacker-shaped argument without first verifying that the value is an array, enabling a global function gadget to reach window.eval. Exploitation requires an application that accepts user-defined specifications, exposes a suitable global gadget, and induces a user to open and interact with the malicious visualization; code then runs in the application's origin.
