CVE-2025-65102Network attack vector

Application crash via oversized Opus PLC zero-fill

Published Nov 21, 2025 · Updated Nov 21, 2025

Buffer overflow in PJPROJECT before 2.16 allows remote attackers to crash receiving applications during Opus packet loss. Opus codec_recover derives its zero-fill length from decoder ptime without bounding the write to the shorter stream frame buffer. Exposure requires the Opus codec in the receiving direction, and the bounded reported consequence is unexpected application termination.
