Code execution via pre-trust Yarn configuration loading
Published Nov 19, 2025 · Updated Nov 20, 2025
Code injection in Anthropic Claude Code before 1.0.39 allows attackers to execute project-supplied code before directory trust. Claude Code invokes yarn --version before trust approval, allowing project-controlled Yarn plugins or yarnPath code to load and run. Exploitation requires Yarn 3.0 or above and a user to start Claude Code in an untrusted directory; injected code runs with that user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
