Browser script execution via unescaped name parameter
Published Jun 23, 2025 · Updated Jun 23, 2025
Reflected XSS in seaswalker spring-analysis allows remote authenticated users to execute browser script through the /echo name parameter. SimpleController.echo concatenates the request's name value into the echo model attribute, and echo.jsp renders that value in an h1 element without escaping or sanitization. Reaching the endpoint requires low-privileged access, and another user must load the crafted response; successful exploitation changes page content in that user's browser.
