Authenticated file read and deletion via alog traversal
Published Dec 16, 2025 · Updated Dec 16, 2025
Path traversal in Wavestore Server before 6.44.44 allows remote authenticated users to read or delete server files through WaveView. The alog script resolves a high-privilege user's crafted path outside the intended directory when WaveView invokes the server's restricted command interface. High-privilege WaveView access is required, and file operations run only with the dvr user's permissions.
