Authenticated IP restriction bypass via trusted XFF
Published Jul 29, 2025 · Updated Jul 29, 2025
Authentication bypass in Progress DataDirect Hybrid Data Pipeline before 4.6.2.2978 allows remote authenticated users to bypass IP restrictions. The HDP Server IP White Listing module trusts the client-controlled X-Forwarded-For header and accepts a claimed address that matches an allowed range. The issue affects Linux deployments with IP whitelisting enabled; valid user credentials remain necessary to access protected resources.
