Uncontrolled search paths in TeamViewer DEX before 17.1 allow local users to execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges. The 1E-Nomad-SetWorkRate instruction resolves an executable through a PATH directory that a local user can write, causing attacker-supplied code to be selected. Exploitation requires local access, write permission to a searched PATH directory, and execution of the affected instruction; successful abuse grants full SYSTEM code execution.
