Authenticated history disclosure via underchecked comparisons
Published Nov 13, 2025 · Updated Nov 14, 2025
Incorrect authorization in Grist Labs grist-core before 1.7.7 allows remote authenticated users to read restricted document history. The /compare endpoint accepts partial document read access and returns version hashes and complete changes without enforcing full read access. Exploitation requires document access and exposes hidden cells, columns, or tables from retained history without modifying data or interrupting service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
